DRIVE BELT TENSIONER

A drive belt tensioner is an engine accessory component designed to maintain proper tension of the auxiliary drive belt. It ensures stable operation of the alternator, power steering pump, air conditioning compressor, water pump, and other belt-driven systems.

The tensioner is mounted at the front of the engine and works together with the accessory belt, pulleys, alternator, pumps, and AC compressor. Depending on design, it may be mechanical, spring-loaded, or hydraulic, and is often supplied as an assembly with a pulley.
